Get your Credit under Control

Irish Hardware & Building Materials Association

Do you really want to get your Credit under Control?
Would it help if your Debtors’ ledger balance moved straight into your bank account?
Is it time you discovered the three step approach to success in Credit?

With 2012 predicted to be another tough year  – the sooner you start to focus on getting your own credit function under control the better it will be for you and your business.

Declan Flood, The Credit Coach, has developed a three part programme to help members of the Irish Hardware and Building Materials Association to gain control of this vital area.

Step 1 – Deals with getting paid for what is currently outstanding on your ledger.
                                – What to do
                                – Who should do it
                                – When to do it

You need to know all the options that are available to you. What you should do yourself, what you should delegate, what you could outsource, what you should escalate, what you should drop, the correct way to write off a balance – if you have to, who to sue, who to settle, who to agree payment plans with and how far can you go in pursuit of money you are rightfully owed.  The longer you wait the less you will collect – the sooner you start the more you will collect.

What are you doing to show your customers that getting paid is important to you?

Missing this groundbreaking session is really going to cost your business – if you can’t attend yourself make sure your business is represented.

Step 2 – Deals with getting new sales from new and existing customers and granting more credit.

In the current climate you can’t continue to give out more and more credit without having some rules, controls and security built in.

If you stop giving credit altogether you may be turning away potentially profitable sales.

Discover what rules will work for you and bring back a clear Credit Policy for all to implement. Take a look at how technology can help in automating the necessary processes and maintain contact with your customers.  Take a critical look at how you are doing things at present and find out how every step can be improved and how to communicate clearly with all your customers with no conflict.

Step 3  -  Optional Ongoing Monitoring

Gaining full control of your Credit Control function is a journey, and if you need expert help for your existing staff to make the necessary progress, we are available to help in any way we can. Having The Credit Coach, Declan Flood, as your virtual Credit Manager, keeping an eye on the areas of greatest exposure, advising you of developments in your industry and sharing information and benchmarking on a permission based platform will greatly benefit all who participate. We will produce monthly reports that will get to the heart of the matter and serve as an Action Plan for the weeks and months ahead.

We will cover all three parts in a single day from 9.30am to 4.00pm

You will leave with a clear action plan on how to tackle all your current outstanding issues.

By getting today right you will start to put distance between the current credit sales that are granted and the old legacy debt that has to be dealt with.

By ongoing monitoring you will ensure that progress will be made every single month, and by having clear targets and reports you will be able to calculate the benefit to your business.

This day programme represents a brand new concept combining training, coaching and consultancy all in one place, and has the added benefit that you can choose to take the advice and tools and put it into practice yourself immediately or you can work with us after the session to get the results you require.

As an added bonus if you are looking for advice on a specific topic we will have five fifteen minute individual slots available on the day on a first come basis  – two before the session starts, one at lunchtime and two at the end of the day, where you can get confidential advice and guidance on your most important issues. If you want to avail of this service please indicate on the attached form and you will receive a questionnaire you can submit in advance or bring it with you on the day.
